Construction of seized buildings continues under the nose of LDA
LUCKNOW: The building which was seized in Patrakarpuram area by LDA in a fierce drive some time ago, construction work in that building has restarted from this week onwards right under the nose of LDA. For about two months, the files for demolishing this building didn’t move from the tables of LDA engineers while the executive engineer of the area kept mum on the issue.
While builders are constructing illegal buildings in the broad daylight, LDA officials are denying any reports of construction of illegal buildings being resumed. The builders and owners of the buildings have taken advantage of this ignorance of LDA. When quizzed about delay in teh demolition of such buildings, LDA said the case is still being heard and hence no action can be taken against the builders.
many such illegal buildings have cropped up in the city of lat where either the builder has not got the map approved or is building multistoried apartments in place of single residential house. The Patrakarpuram area sees many buildings built on teh similar pattern where builders are brazenly violating the norms.
Despite complaints from locals and media reports about construction resuming in the seized building, the builder has constructed about three storey of building in this area. When locals started protesting the illegal construction, only then LDA came forward to seize the building. Similar unauthorised constructions can easily be witnessed in areas like Niralanagar, Mahanagar, Vikasnagar and other parts of Aliganj but LDA has turned a blind eye towards them.
However LDA officials have confirmed that they would soon take decision to demolish the building. The executive engineer is responsible to see that the work doesn’t resume in a seized building.
